ANDOWEI BINAEBI TO DISTRIBUTE FREE PADDLES TO RIVERINE BOAT OPERATORS IN DELTA SOUTH
As part of his commitment to improving the welfare of riverine communities, the Senate Candidate of the New Democratic Congress (NDC) for Delta South Senatorial District, Andowei Binaebi, has announced a Free Paddle Distribution Initiative for speedboat owners and fishing canoe operators in Burutu and Warri South-West Local Government Areas.
The initiative is aimed at supporting the hardworking men and women who provide essential transportation and fishing services across the waterways, helping to sustain businesses and connect remote communities.
According to the campaign team, the free paddle distribution is designed to ease the operational burden on boat operators while promoting safer and more efficient water transportation.
The programme will provide paddles at no cost to eligible beneficiaries and is expected to:
* Support the daily operations of boat operators.
* Improve safety on the waterways.
* Reduce operating costs for riverine transporters and fishermen.
Speaking on the initiative, the campaign emphasized that the contribution of riverine operators to the development of Delta South cannot be overlooked, describing them as the lifeline of many coastal communities.
“Your work does not go unnoticed. This initiative is our way of saying thank you and standing with you as partners in the development of Delta South,” the statement noted.
The distribution exercise will take place in Burutu and Warri South-West, with the official date to be announced in the coming days.
The initiative forms part of Andowei Binaebi’s broader agenda to improve the welfare of riverine communities and strengthen support for those whose livelihoods depend on the waterways.
